Computer manufacturers are now installing the 64-bit version of Windows 7 on new PCs instead of a 32-bit version. So what does this mean?
Microsoft created the 64-bit version because it works with more memory and processes larger chucks of information at a time. The result is a faster and stable PC. However, if you have an older printer, scanner, or other peripheral that you connect to your PC, check the manufacturer’s web site before you buy to see if 64-bit updated support software (or “driver”) is available.
If you’re not sure, stay with 32-bit Windows 7 so you won’t have problems. Or better yet, call us when you need a new PC for your business.
